Educating the WholeHearted Child

I really enjoyed this book about discipleship, whole books and Christian home education.  The Clarkson’s have put together a resource that will help many families as they educate their children at home.  I especially enjoyed the sections of the book about putting a life style of learning into practice.   The Clarkson’s offer many ideas for incorporating learning into daily life and even challenged me to see my home with new eyes.  They suggest creating “discovery corners” around one’s home.  Some examples include a drawing and design corner, audio corner, history dress-up corner, geography corner, and a carpentry corner.  I appreciate the encouraging tone of the book, and I am thankful for all the booklists and websites and helpful tips that are scattered throughout.  It may make sense to read this book twice, reading the actual text first and then going through and reading the sidebars.  I know this is a book to which I will continue to refer.
