Have you ever been in a spiritual high where you are singing, "My God and I go in the fields together, we walk and talk as good friends should and do. We clasp our hands our voices ring in laughter..." You are telling God, "Have thine own way Lord, have thine own way." You're feeling good, things are going great, but before you it know the dark clouds start rolling in. It may be death, illness, unemployment, you name it, but it hits and hits hard. You may find yourself singing the lyrics to a song by Missing Persons, "Do you hear me? Do you care?"
That's were I've been this last year as I've been in a season of loss and can't seem to shake it. I keep thinking surely this can't keep going on, but it keeps coming. It is a time of testing and refining. How long does it take to refine a person? It must take a while for me.
I would like to encourage you if you are going through a time of trials that God does love you and care about you even if it doesn't feel like it. There is a great web page called The Father's Love Letter that uses scripture and puts it into a love letter from God. There is also a video online that you can watch. It will remind you how much God really loves you and that you are not an accident!
